About

‘Arose’ is a duet choreographed by Ellen Hathaway and produced by Moving Art Management in collaboration with dancers Joseph Delaney & Kathryn Spence and Lebanese Creative Consultant Lucy Boulos.

Inspired by Ellen Hathaway’s research in Lebanon in 2018, and the compelling tale of a young woman’s participation in a national revolution, ‘Arose’ illustrates themes of forced displacement, current national uprisings and unity of people as a consequence.

‘Arose’ is in it’s first stage of research, initially developed as part of Dance City’s Creative Summer Programme in 2019, and performed at Moving Art Management’s FRESH North East Platform at Dance City in 2019.
